There's just something miserably self-deprecating about having a thought and assuming nobody cares about it. I admit I've known people who could be shouting, "I'm on fire! I'm on fire!" and nobody would look their way, but fug-sakes, I mean as a rule surely somebody somewhere is likely to give two shakes about what you're randomly thinking.

Now granted I'm coming at this from an angle of being somebody who has commanded a bit of attention in her life, but I can't imagine the degree of self-loathing necessary to truly believe that something a person has to say is utterly beyond the pale of any shred of shared interest. Sure, I've posted here quite a bit in this thread, but more because it's here than out of a core belief that no one cares about what I'm thinking. What must it be like to consider oneself and conclude all personal cogitation to be beyond a pity-listen? Even the class-nerds we all dealt with in college, the sorts who'd hold up the instructor to tell a story the nerd hoped would demonstrate a personal appreciation for the subject on hand, got some feedback based on the input.

There's something so masochistically bleak about the concept behind this thread that has always made me feel like sending over chocolate and preference-appropriate pornography to anyone posting here who actually does think nobody cares. So if you're one such person.....I care. Yes. I care.....

Don't approach me or PM me for an elbow bump or try to claim that aforementioned chocolate and wank-material, and don't think it makes us soul mates or cycle buddies or entitles you to be buried in my cemetery plot, or assume I am going to name my next pet after your favorite movie hero, but....I care.

Yes, I care. I do. I do care.

And to prove that I will think about considering giving positive karma to someone who posts here in the doldrums of low self-confidence at some future date. I may not...but I may. May.

Just to show I care.
