Something tells me Horace Smith & Daniel B. Wesson got ahold of an 1858 Devisme & decided to rebuild it backwards in order to get around the copyright laws.....

I randomly remembered many years ago, a week or so after I'd been stabbed in the shoulder I was walking down the street and met an old woman I knew. She didn't know about the stab wound (I was keeping it as secret as possible for various reasons) and clapped me on the shoulder during the conversation. I felt waves of nausea washing over my body and struggled to stay upright. I have no doubt the colour must have drained from my face but somehow I managed to stay on my feet.

Then she clapped me on the same shoulder a second time.

My mother, age 79, receives (physical) catalogs from The Vermont Country Store, the Country Store, and The Country Door all of which sell the same sort of stuff.

OK, Viking culture and mythos rocked but Vikings were library-burning dicks.

Nazis looked damn chic while out genociding and invading.

The Sith radiated coolness while they whacked younglings and blew up whole planets.

So why the heck can't the forces of good get their act together and present a more impressive image to the world?

Odin made an oath to rid the world of frost giants. I've never encountered a frost giant. Odin's cool for that.  Cheers

My son Eddie stopped over- looked at my TV- which hasn't worked in 2 months- and fixed it.  Thumbup

I keep confusing ALDI with Lidl.....

Probably because this is a Food Lion town.....
There's more Food Lions in this town than there are Starbucks.....

My Dad lives in NYC and was intending to take the N train to 59th st with a stop at 36th, which is where the subway attack happened. His wife, my stepmother, got sick and he had to tend to her otherwise he could have been there. He was going to buy Tamales from some lady on 59th st.

It's scary when gun violence brushes up against those we love.
I was a toddler at the time, but in 1966 my Mom and Dad literally moved off of the sidewalk on the University of Texas campus to make room for a guy pushing a dolly with a trunk on it towards the UT clock tower.  They got in their car and drove off, and moments later he came out on top of the clock tower and started shooting, wounding over 30 people and killing 13.  Mom and Dad missed being in his sights by about five minutes, and recognized him when his picture was displayed on the news that evening.
