I was reading this book https://www.amazon.com/50-Greatest-Movies-Never-Made/dp/031220082X  The 50 Greatest Movies never made. One of the 50 was some MST3K related project. I can't remember it was like they were going to create their own b movie or something.


Anyway they mentioned Joel Hodgson's really pretty successful career as a comic. He even at one point worked with Jerry Seinfeld.

Prop comics are generally disdained in the comedy world but Hodgson was off bet enough he earned something called "The Joel Hodgson exception"

Interesting anecdote: supposedly, the reason MST3K made so many jokes ragging on Gallagher is that Joel caught Gallagher rummaging through his prop collection backstage one night. Joke-stealing is a huge taboo with comics.
