^ Yes, the legacy of Trump will have aftershocks for years. But It seems like a good  thing to chill.
If only for a minute to catch a breath.

I admit watching those news programs last night got me wound up.  And your remark wasn't a week ago...

I stopped watching TV news waaaaaay back in April and I've been chill as a refrigerated cucumber these past 9 months, even when COVID blazed through the lab and quarantined all but 3 of us back in October. I can't even watch that noise (let's call it that instead of "news") anymore, much less read the newspapers, because...well...

So you don't read the papers or watch the news. Where do you get your information from? Outer space transmissions from God? Bulls**t. Of course you watch the news. Your lying through your teeth.
I call bulls**t.
You watch the news and bend it so it fits your views.
And quoting Mitch McConnell will not help you argument.

PS- Denzel was the bad guy in that movie, remember?

Sober up before you read, RC. I said that I don't watch *TV news* anymore, nor do I read *newspapers*. Yes, I get my news online like a lot of other people do, but I have more control over what I can read online, instead of having it filtered and spoonfed into my brain like what you apparently get from CNN and MSNBC, which is undoubtedly the only two news sources that you subscribe to, judging by what you regularly post in here. Is what Mitch McConnell said in 2013 not the truth? Did the Democrats not regret it just a scant 3 years later when Republicans took back the 3 branches of government for a short time? You're still whining about those repercussions now!

Ask yourself this question too: What events transpired that led up to that 2016 takeover? Are they similar events to what is going on right now under this Puppet Biden's administration? Think about that.  Cheers

Holy cow!

I just had a friend on FB tell me:  "The Supreme Court is still reviewing the votes in 3 states.  Trump could still be President!"

I'm just . . . stunned at the sheer stupidity of that statement   Does she really believe this?  I mean, she could just be trolling me.
But . . . if a voting adult in the USA truly believes that the Supreme Court is going to invalidate an election a month after the new President takes office, and stick his defeated opponent back in there . . . our country is hopeless.

Idiocracy has arrived.

interesting that there was a link between all this and protesters, who agreed not to rampage between the election and inauguration

Only funding can do that. So who was funding the protesters? This is just an example of how these protesters get some of their funding; look at where it all started with BLM:

Quote
Some of the biggest donors on the left plan to meet behind closed doors next week in Washington with leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement and their allies to discuss funding the burgeoning protest movement, POLITICO has learned.

The meetings are taking place at the annual winter gathering of the Democracy Alliance major liberal donor club, which runs from Tuesday evening through Saturday morning and is expected to draw Democratic financial heavyweights, including Tom Steyer and Paul Egerman.

The DA, as the club is known in Democratic circles, is recommending its donors step up check writing to a handful of endorsed groups that have supported the Black Lives Matter movement. And the club and some of its members also are considering ways to funnel support directly to scrappier local groups that have utilized confrontational tactics to inject their grievances into the political debate.

It’s a potential partnership that could elevate the Black Lives Matter movement and heighten its impact. But it’s also fraught with tension on both sides, sources tell POLITICO.

The various outfits that comprise the diffuse Black Lives Matter movement prize their independence. Some make a point of not asking for donations. They bristle at any suggestion that they’re susceptible to being co-opted by a deep-pocketed national group ― let alone one with such close ties to the Democratic Party establishment like the Democracy Alliance.

But as everybody knows, everybody has a price. Give them enough money, and they'll always come around eventually.  Cheers

A Capitol riot suspect known as the 'QAnon Shaman' said he was 'deeply disappointed' in Trump for not being 'honorable'

https://www.yahoo.com/news/capitol-riot-suspect-known-qanon-070146912.html

... A Capitol riot suspect known as the "QAnon Shaman" said he was "deeply disappointed" in former President Donald Trump for not being "honorable."

"I have to leave judging him up to other people," Jacob Chansley said in a statement. "I deeply regret and am sorry that I entered the Capitol building on January 6, 2021. I should not have been there."

Chansley was arrested three days after the insurrection on January 6 and charged with civil disorder, obstruction, and disorderly conduct. He has previously said he felt played by the former president and indicated interest in testifying during Trump's impeachment trial, which begins on Tuesday.

His attorney Albert Watkins appeared on CNN Monday night to condemn the former president for the "Trump talk" and propaganda that created the "environment" ahead of January 6...

One of those "credible witnesses", eh? They seriously considering bringing in a guy who just attacked the building last month to testify on their behalf? Yeah, what could possibly go wrong?  TeddyR

So you don't think that someone who was there and took part in the events should be called to testify. I almost fell off my chair laughing at that. Good job you are not a lawyer.

You can argue with Zelmo all day long-he's like a broken door knob.
You try to open the door-but the doorknob comes off in your hand and you end up screaming at a door.

Did you even read the article?

Quote
"For people like Jake, for millions of Americans, they truly did hang on every word of their president, our president, the person that we permitted day-in, day-out to speak to us in ways and in fashions that simply weren't true," Watkins told CNN's Chris Cuomo.

Watkins went on to describe the "process of unwinding" that his client had to go through while he was in police custody - which he likened to being deprogrammed from a cult.

A brainwashed dildo testifying against the guy that "brainwashed" him, undoubtedly cutting a deal to reduce his jail time. This entire "trial" is a big f'ing joke, and the fact that you are lending credence to this nimrod only makes you look like the bigger fool. "Oh poor me! Trump made me attack the Capitol Building! Please disregard the fact that the FBI knew about the attack months in advance," said the QAnon Shaman.  Cheers

Yes I read the article. It doesn't actually mention them summoning him as a witness, just that he was willing to testify and thus in no way backs up your arguement.
