It takes about 243 Earth days to rotate once on its axis but orbits the Sun in about 225 Earth days.

No church this morning because the daughter I take there is across town til noon, no going to my mother in law's house (as it feels bizarre to call it now Bluesad) so I think this afternoon I'll go to a fossil park and partake of life's greatest joy, being with my children.

Marcus Licinius Crassus became the richest man in ancient Rome in part because when he saw a fire he'd rush in and offer the owner of burning building money for his property, and he got a lot of land inexpensively that way. I wonder if anyone is using that tactic right now in Maui?

When something is mentioned as having been posted on X, I keep thinking is that a porno or casual sex site? Then a second or two later it clicks.

Any Godzilla film where the monster doesn't do one of those tail slide drop kicks is not worthy of the name.

I am really not surprised to hear about Yevgeny Prigozhin. Figured he'd have an accident sooner rather than later. Such is the way of crazy ass dictators dealing with their enemies and former friends.

Glad to hear that the kids in Pakistan were successfully rescued. That had to be a hard 16 hours.
