Occidentali's Karma

There have been tattoo threads before, so this is an update thread I guess.

In my teen years, I tried to tattoo something on the back of my right hand between my thumb and index finger. With a needle, twine and ink. It didn't go further than one single sting. It's not that I really wanted a tattoo, as I was just playing around.

Generally I'm not a fan of tats, at least not on myself.

On a related note, not a fan of piercings as well. My sister's ex used to have eyebrow, nose, lip, ear and tongue piercings. Watching him eat always grossed me out.

So, do you have tattoos?

Get a tattoo and nullify my lifelong dream of being buried in a Chasidic Jewish cemetery someday? Never!

No, I am anti-tattoo. (Apologies to any tatted folks here, I can still like you without approving of your tattoos!) Bikers, sailors and carnival sideshow attractions are OK, I guess. But never on women!

I remember when everyone started getting tattoos in the early 90s I predicted that when they would look terrible on their saggy skin as they aged (that part was true enough), and that their kids would think they were lame and refuse to get them out of rebellion. Sadly, I was wrong about the last part. I would have bet the house on it!

I have three tattoos. On my left shoulder I have a wolf tearing its way out of the skin, on my right shoulder I have the Motorhead logo, and on my chest over my heart I have Lilly-Beth's name and birthday.

I used to want tattoos when I was younger, but I have since decided they are probably not for me.  I have no desire to look like I can hold my own in a fist fight and it's hard to tattoo a woman and make her look like she can't.  One day I am going to run my mouth too much and I'm going to want someone to step in... preferably with a couple tattoos.

I usually like how they look on other people though.  However, there seems to be a new trend with people tatting themselves up randomly with oddly proportioned tattoos in weird places.  Like a tiny tattoo in the middle of a bicep or a bunch of little tattoos haphazardly placed up and down someone's arm.. or the above the knee tattoos.  It just looks kind of mental to me.  Like they're trying to look like a middle schoolers doodle-pad.  I don't even want to go into face tattoos.

No. I've never seen a design I liked enough to say I want that on my body permanently.

sure... on my upper left arm, I have the coordinates of the birthplaces of Angelina Jolie's children.

not really. no tatts. never wanted any

I used to work with this extremely attractive girl, who had these tattoos on the backs of both hands that just looked as if someone had got a felt tip pen and randomly scrawled a few lines and arrows for fun... just... why? ( I never asked her about them)
