SCREAMTIME (1983)
British-American vignette flick with 3 stories, involving a crazed puppeteer, a haunted house, and vengeful gnomes. The stories are tied together by video store thieves who watch them. Not on DVD or Blu-Ray yet.
this sounds amazing!
It sounds better than it is, in my opinion. Rented this back in the day. The stories are short films the director made at different times. He edited them to fit the movie's 90 minutes time frame. Manson International picked this up for distribution and paid for a wrap around story that was shot in New York, for $150,000,00. The New York footage sticks out and looks unrelated to the British filmed segments.
It is very amateurish and felt like a patchwork backyard production. Which it actually is for the most part. The image quality is awful, and ugly to look at. Grainy, washed out colors, weird framing. The short films were shot on 16mm or something? The New York footage obviously used a different camera.
