Mine is a bit gross.

One of the characters in the book The Shining, Watson, always checks his handkerchief after he's blown his nose to see what he got.

I picked this habit up in 1980 and still do it to this day.  Buggedout Wink

Ha! That's a great question. I know for a little while in the kind of intense summer between eighth and ninth grades, 1993, after I read Peter Straub's Ghost Story, I took up the habit of staring really hard at people for a second and then whispering: "I am you."

I think when you're an adolescent a big part of life is doing something for reactions.  TongueOut

PS: I should start doing that again.

Ghost Story is one of the scariest books I have ever read: the movie was just OK but the book: yikes.

Just btw I am me.  Wink

Smelling the pages of an old book or comic. Whenever I get an old book I smell it. I love the smell of yellowing pages.

I once bought a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle omnibus book and waited almost two months for it. It was delivered at work and I almost ripped open the envelope: the smell from inside was  Buggedout Twirling Twirling TongueOut Ugh: mothballs! I had to leave the book outside until the smell went away.
