Basic rules:

What song is intruding on your thoughts at the moment? Punk? Easy listening? Jazz? Rap?

Tell us so we know what is in your head at the moment.

Please list the song title and band, doesn't matter if it is a cover or an original, so we can check it out if it catches our interest! Post the portion that is looping in your head, if you feel inclined. Please avoid posting the entire lyrics to avoid copyright problems (which may or may not be an issue, but YouTube has me feeling hinky!)

Right now: The Smiths -- "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out"

And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure, the privilege is mine

What is YOUR earworm?

Joe Pasquale singing this one:

For reasons that will be obvious if you listen to it, I won't post the title or lyrics.

Honestly, the backward tracking on Stairway To Heaven, about "Sweet Satan." I have that stuck in my head. (For real.)

"The Night Has a Thousand Eyes" by Bobby Vee has been meandering in and out of my head for the past few months.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with it, but the chorus is:

'Cause the night has a thousand eyes
And a thousand eyes can't help but see if you are true to me
So remember when you tell those little white lies
That the night has a thousand eyes

It takes on a weird Lovecraftian vibe after a while that I'm not very comfortable with.

Speaking of 90s cheese -- who remembers The Kelly Family? This one gets stuck in my head now and then, especially the chorus:

I fell in love with an alien
I fell in love with her eyes
I fell in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise
I'm in love with an alien
I'm in love with her eyes
I'm in love with an alien
I'm telling you no disguise

Here in Germany, it was impossible to escape the Kelly Family. They were in your face 24/7. I don't think they had any hits in the U.S. though, but I could be wrong.

This shouldn't be an earworm, but it's so weird it'll stick.

She'll eat you alive!

Due to my temperature coming down from over two days of being in the 102 degree range (not ideal for sleeping or watching movies), I've had the lovely tune "98.6" by Keith running through my head!

Hey, 98.6, it's good to have you back again, oh
Hey, 98.6, her lovin' is the medicine that saved me
Oh, I love my baby
