Anchor Bay has released a few special DVD editions of that movie, including one with both a "making of" documentary, and a preview of the "Evil Dead:Hail To The King" PlayStation video game.
Anchor Bay is making sure that all three "Evil Dead" films will fully live on through all next of the ten upcoming centuries.

After giving EVIL DEAD life once again, it's about time Anchor Bay get the rights to the full uncut 104 minute version of Peter Jackson's BRAINDEAD! After their release of BAD TASTE during the first premiere of THE LORD OF THE RINGS, Anchor Bay needs to get on the ball with releasing BRAINDEAD during the second or third release of THE LORD OF THE RINGS!

Comon Anchor Bay, get back into the Peter Jackson phase.

I prefer the elite dvd over the newer anchor bay one because the picture is cropped and truthfully doesn't look as good. It a shame Sam Raimi did not allow them to use within the woods on the dvd, I still can't understand why he didn't want it there. Anchor Bay's evil dead 2 dvd with the documentary and drawing cover is the one to go with. As far as army of darkness I have no idea, I never really liked it enough to own the dvd.

There are two SE releases of Evil Dead 2: One in a standard package with commentary (w/Campbell, Raimi, Speigel, and Greg Nicotero), a documentary, trailers, and more; and the same disc in a special tin with a booklet. Either one is a great buy; the commentary is hilarious, and has become something of a standard against which other commentaries are judged.
