Gotta recomend one of the best Marines in Hollywood,  R. Lee Ermey, in the new half hour history channel show, "Mail Call". Lots of fun. I kinda wonder how much they had to edit out to keep it airable! The man gets to , In answer to viewers E-mail, show how to drive a tank, Swing a Samauri sword, and other related military stuff. He's has a ball in this one, and its infectious. Flangepart says, check it out! ...........That includes you, Staff Sgt. B!

With his new role in the upcoming "Willard" remake,as well as this TV stint,it looks like R. Lee Emrey is making a big comeback to the film media world,of all sorts.
                      Welcome back , Sir!!!!

Will do, because he always seems to play the same character in his movies, but it is always what the part calls for.

He actually played a more toned down police detective on the American TV remake of CRACKER a few years ago. And he was better than most of the show, certainly better than Robert Pastorelli. He played his character as very world-weary, quiet, and methodical.  But I only remember him yelling a few times, nothing about the chracter said former-DI. He should try his hand at more police or crime thrillers if he can get such work. On that show he proved he had more range as an actor than you would expect.

But what I did see of MAIL CALL was a hoot. I hope the History Channel makes lots more episodes, instead of just cranking out a few, then rerunning the hell out of them, like with "History Vs. Hollywood".

Oh, yeah! Ermey has a ball doing this show, and as i said, its infectious. And...they have an R. Lee Ermey action figure out! Don't look too much like him to me, but if it floats  yer boat... Humm. An Andrew Borntreger Action figure....M-16 in one hand, a remote control in the other, and a ruck sack full of Hand grenades and videos of B-movies! But...which of those would be deadlier?

New stuff! Go to www.rleeermey.com for the old man's web site. Good stuff, troop! I'm gonna post a question to Mail Call. Now if i can just decide on what! Hummm...i'm leaning towards..."What are the 3 stupidest thing you've seen movie characters do involving firearms." Any other ideas?
