Caught the beginning of COUNTESS DRACULA (1971) on Flix yesterday. Its a Hammer film that reminded me of NIGHTMARE CASTLE, but I couldn't watch the end because I had to go out. Anyone know the ending?

No, she doesn't die in the end, but, I won't go further then that, for anyone who hasn't seen it and wants to see it, as I have. If one is fond of Hammer horror, as I am, I would suggest seeing it. Nigel Green turns in another one of his good performances. And it has that lush cinematography and those lush sets, that one associates with Hammer.
Enjoy!

Oh well, it was just a guess since I've never seen it (that I recall). The vampire usually dies in the end.

She's not even a vampire!
In fact, Countess Elizabeth Bathory was a real woman who lived in the sixteenth century and tortured and killed hundreds of young girls. The stuff about her bathing in blood to become young is doubtful in a historical context, and if she did do this, it certainly didn't actually work, as happens in this movie. If you're interested, there is a history of her at:

Once again I was guessing based on the title.

Thanks, I've read a little about her.
