Well, crap.

Sony has announced that GxM will not be getting either a theatrical release OR video release in the US for now. (I still don't have my damn PS2 either, you @#$!%s.)

Still, the Japanese-language video should be coming out in less than a month, and it should become easy to nail a subtitled edition. (I always like these better anyway.)

I know Andrew doesn't like "dub" info being bandied about here, but since the film's not going to become available anytime soon, and because a link to Video Daikaiju's online catalog which I provided a while back has since gone VERY bad (welcome to Pop-Up Hell!), here is Video Daikaiju's snail-mail address:

VIDEO DAIKAIJU
PO BOX 185
SUCCASUNNA NJ 07876

Get their catalog. They do a fine job. If you don't believe me, pop "video daikaiju" (with quotation marks) into a search engine and see all the accolades.

In the meantime, drips and drabs of info on the upcoming "Godzilla/Mothra/KingGhidorah" continue to trickle in at MonsterZero (http://www.fandom.com/Godzilla/).

Ah,Man! That vacs. I'd have thought the G-2000 film did well, with the crowds i saw at the theater. Rats! Ohwell, thanks for the Address update,Squishy. I'd rather have a good pro tape, but V.D. does do good translations, and the prints often come with trailers. Extra fun!

Well that really just p**ses me off that the new Godzilla film would not be relaesed theatricaly or on video here in the United States. I wish I lived in Japan so I can see these films, but I do remember what my father always told me and that is, "America is a much more better place to live than any other country." But now, I can just say, "Yeah, I am sure proud to live in a country that does not take interest into releasing foreign films that are way better than an American film. I'd rather live in Japan anyway".

But in a way, it was kind of obvious that the new Godzilla flick would not make it to U.S. shores. I remember when me and a friend of mine saw GODZILLA 2000 in the theatre and the audience was just laughing at the fact that the film was good. Even the dubbing was okay, but they still laughed. Well, we could not stand it because we were trying to watch it and I finaly said, "Hey, shut the hell up. Would you rather see this film subtitled you morons?" And the audience was then quiet. This really happened. This is the type of audience that still believe the model buildings are made out of cardboard and the cars, trains, jets, etc. are model toys. Boy, are these people out-of-touch.

Well, I still hope and prey that the new Godzilla flick will be released soon because if it doesn't then we will get a steady dose of crap from Hollywood from now on.
