Hey Scott.

I assume you watched the first one?

If you liked it, you probably won't be disappointed with any of Parts 1 through 5.  My favorite is definitely number 1.

In order of preference: (I hate to do this without watching all of them over again for fear of mixing them up!!)

Part 1 (can rarely beat the 1st part of any series)
Part 2 (the nudity ALMOST makes this one beat Part 1)
Part 4 (WAY too much fun)
Part 3 (Very cool "Prequel" to the first two)
Part 5

I haven't seen anything beyond part 5 for fear of ruining my opinion of the series.

I say, watch them all in order!

I put 2 above one.  Nudity vs. a stuffed dog that's supposed to be a real dog?  I haven't seen part 5 yet, I'd almost rate 3 & 4 in a tie.

I have yet to see four or five (or "Curse Of The.." or "Retro..")  I liked the first three, though.  Although as has been ponted out, things that happen in two make no sense in light of three

2 and 3 are my favorites and tied for first.  2 had nudity and the wonderful bit between the kid and Torch...coolness!  3 had an interesting back story (well, I thought so) and they even snuck in a cool Genesis of Blade subplot.

Then comes 1, followed by 4,5, Retro and, finally, the Sssss remake that was Curse of the Puppet Master talking the worst PM movie slot.

2, thwn 1....wasn't one the one where the puuupet drilled through the Nazi's stomach?  I'm not even sure I have the right movie (I was 8), but I would hope there aren't that many movies about posessed puppets around.....

Puppet Master I -> 6
Curse Of The Pupper Master
Retro Puppet Master
Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys

...and then there's Chucky...

..and a handful of Twiilight Zone episodes and similar shows about possessed ventriliquists' dummies

The first 3 movies are very good (I'd put them in the order from the 1st-3rd as my 3 favorites) then the series kind of degraded with 4 & 5 to me. Retro puppetmaster and curse of the puppetmaster are utter crap that I wouldn't recommend to bother even watching. Why couldn't they adapt some of the ideas from the comic for these two? They did it with the third one.

My favorite was probably the first followed by whichever one had the toy designer discovering the puppets and making them good. I've forgotten most of the numbers and I'm too lazy to look them up.
