Just got this email...not sure how serious the guy is.  Rather amusing...

=======================
Hello,
If you are a Time Traveler I am going to need the following:

1. A modified mind warping Dimensional Warp Generator # 52 4350a series
wrist watch with memory adapter.

2. Reliable carbon based, or silicon based time transducing capacitor.

I need a reliable source!! Please only reply if you are reliable. Send a
(SEPARATE) email to me at:Tomnwrr@aol.com

The words 'reliable carbon' used in the same sentence as Time Transducing Capacitor are pretty funny, only silicon TTCs work with any reliability, carbon will cook in the upper frequencies.

4350b IS compatable, but don't try it with the c series without getting the dataform upgrade.  And wasn't the a series recalled?  Something about inproper memory downloads, I think.

Good luck.

This guy's been spamming random segments of cyberspace for years.  Oddly enough, his requests have gotten progressive:  a while back, he was simply asking for any time travelers (human or alien) to contact him, because he hada cock-up in his past he wanted to fix.  His technological requests have gotten more specific since then.

Yeah, I got one of those requests a few months back (looking for time travellers).  The only reason I took more notice this time was because it was my second one so it kinda intrigued me.

OK...what are the odds the guy is telling the truth? :)  As many time-travelling movies as have been seen by those here, would anybody be just a bit intrigued if it was true?

Well, he is using some rather dated equipment that, as mentioned earlier, is a bit flaky.

He should just do a search for the web site selling time machine kits. Of course you have to be careful that the aliens don't zero in on you while you're using they're stolen technology...

I love these requests. They're so much more interesting that typical SPAM. I went along with it once, and did some research for the heck of it, and made up some real cool sounding parts. Stuff like Bipolar Wave/Particle Circuits, Heterostructural Field Transistors,  Switch FM ZVS-Converters. Makes me sound like I know what the hell I'm talking about. I mean, if you just want to have a little fun, make a false name, and go looking at transistor radio pages for diction. Fun stuff.
