this time i REALLY wasted some time watching "the twilight people" and "O.J. simpson minimum maintenance fitness for men." --- i confess to trying the abdominal routine (much needed...)...

The Twilight People - 1972 (PG). (VHS) Directed and co-written by Eddie Romero. This visual mess is your basic The Island of Dr. Moreau/Island of Lost Souls-type story. Dr. Gordon lives on an island where he's developing "super beings" but his beings are super failures; they can't talk or stop fighting among themselves. Dr. Gordon's experimental dictatorship is threatened when kidnapped diver Matt escapes. Pam Grier appears in the dialogueless role of Ayesa the Panther Woman---a role I'm sure she's still trying to forget. This flick also contains some of the worst creature make-up ever. Panther Woman's make-up consists entirely of plastic fangs and Darmo the Bat Man's trash-bag-looking wings are truly unforgettable. NOT RECOMMENDED.

O.J. Simpson Minimum Maintenance Fitness for Men - 1994 (NR). Directed by Nancy DiToro. O.J. and personal trainer Richard Walsh demonstrate exercise routines to counter stress from "traveling, living in hotels, and not getting enough sleep." It's almost as hard getting around the host's fake enthusiasm, which borders on the condescending, as it is to overlook his colorful legal history. There's something unnerving watching Simpson throw punches while offering advice such as "don't kill yourself." If you're still up for some exercise, the routines seem legitimate enough. And as O.J. says, it'll help you "be a better husband, father, and lover at home." Famous houseguest Kato even appears in the basketball scene. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I can't look at any movie with OJ in it (Naked Gun, um, uh, Naked Gun), without thinking "Murderer!" every time his face shows up.

Maybe your OJ workout video would be more enjoyable if it included the 20 minutes of outtakes like mine does. Some of these clips were subpenoed(?) during his trial.
Like when they are doing the "boxing" workout and OJ says, "You better get your space in when your near the wife. You can always blame it on, uh, working out."
Or when he does the tennis bit and swings the raquet and says,"Ooh, I like that, that backhand. I was deadly with my backhand."
He flubbed his lines so often that I'm surprised he made it through.

My brother found this video in a CVS or K-Mart for $4 brand new. The outtakes precede the actual fitness video.

Don't forget the "Buttock Squeeze"!!!

It must have been (re)released after the trial because during certain outtakes, the word SUBPOENED (it can't spell it!) comes across the screen.
The editing of the outtakes at times makes his behavior really bizarre with all the faces he makes and crazy laughter.

Jame Ellroy wrote a great article on this guy, check it out in his book "Crimewave".
What I'll never understand is all that black people that stood up and cheered when they saw on TV that he had been declared not guilty. I was black, I wouldn't like that kind of people walking free among members of my community.

Because OJ triumphed over the evil white oppressors who couldn't stand to see a successful black man and tried to frame him for killing a white girl who probably deserved what she got for not sticking to her own race.

(Before replying, look up the word sarcasm)

Yeah, well, guess some people really thought that way. Still I found the whole thing quite sickenning, and that man gives me the creeps everytime he appears on TV.
