yikes. i watched this one last night. released on video by Monster Island Entertainment...somehow in bed with Full Moon...

Kraa! the Sea Monster - 1998 (PG). (VHS) Directed by Aaron Osborne. 200 feet tall semi-aquatic alien is sent to destroy Earth's civilization so that Lord Doom can move in from Proyas the Dark Planet. Gotta love (or not) any movie with a guy in a rubber suit destroying miniature buildings in slow motion. The Earth's only hope comes in the form of an Italian speaking slime mushroom named Mogyar. Also on Earth's side is the Planet Patrol---who's base ship includes a whopping four teenagers. Yes, those are LEGOs on the nuclear powered death ray. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Monster Island WAS a temporary off shoot of Full Moon.

I liked this movie - Giant, stupid monster, a talking cheeseburger for a hero, and an evil midget henchman.  What's not to like?

Guys?  Where are you going?  GUYS!?

Ugh, no.  I definitely do not like this film.  That the helpful little fellow from outer space was some sort of Sicilian (at least, somewhere near there) shellfish did not help things.  All for seeing a huge monster go stomping through town, but maybe not from the Full Moon orphan.

i gotta laugh at our three descriptions of MOGYAR:

chadzilla: a cheeseburger
mr. henry: a slime mushroom
andrew: a sicilian shellfish

...that's one hell of a happy meal.

what the hell was that thing supposed to be???

I picked up a copy at a flee market in late 2001. It was an okay film. It's more a kid film than for teens. Not too bad, but not too good.
