Movies you like, but are afraid to admit it.

Let's see if this subject gets any response, or just a bunch of people bashing the hell outta me.  Here goes nothing:

Movies I liked, but am afraid to admit it:

Scary Movie:  Yeah, it was juvenile, sick, vile, and disgusting with not much intellect behind it, but it did have me rolling with laughter almost all the way thru.(But part 2 really sucked, badly!)

Freddy got Fingered:  see above

Dude, Where's My Car:  Not as disgusting as the first two listed, but the humor was on about the same intelligence level.  I really did laugh my ass off on this film, much to the curiosity of many other people in the theater at the time.

Adam Sandler movies:  Mainly Waterboy and Little Nicky.  Hated Big Daddy though, and have not seen Mr. Deeds.  The stuff he puts on his CDs (except for a couple of bits) is extremely NOT FUNNY imo.

There's more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

Well most of the films I'd usually get werid looks about when I admit to liking them are the films that everyone here loves.  Kinda like Alcoholics Anonymous for badmovie lovers. 'Let it all out Pete, we feel your pain'

The only film that springs to mind like you describe is Look Who's Talking Too.  Granted, last time I saw it was about 5 years ago, but I used to quite a lot when I was like 11/12. Liked it all except that Gildbert Gottfried. Evil s**t's voice is like nails on a blackboard.

I laughed a couple of times at Scary Movie, but overall it was ultra-s**tty.
I liked all I've seen of Sandler's films, Airheads, Wedding Singer and Waterboy.  I've actually got Going Overboard on DVD and I'm pretty sure that'll change my opinion on him. I'm afraid of watching that film.

I think this one will put me on the spot, but I really didn't mind "battlefield earth". I know it was completely farfetched and implausible, but hey, this is badmovies.org, after all.
I put it in the same class as independence day - a goofy film about overcoming incredible odds. Plus, Travolta is pretty humorous as a space rastafarian....

I actually like The Last Dragon. I don't know, it's so goofy. And Sho' Nuff is cool!

I aslo like those silly dance movies from the 80's, like Fame and Breakin'. I swear, it must be that supposed feminine side we guys are supposed to have. Or maybe it's my "I love s**tty movies" side...

I guess I'm not really ashamed to admit it since I was nearly lynched at B-Fest in '02 for standing up for it, but Can Heironymous Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness (that may not be the exact title, but you get the idea) is a groovy flick.

I like Leonard part 6 and I'm proud to admit it (hides behind a wall)  I also like both Scary Movies (even though I think the Wayans Brothers' Don't be A Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice In the Hood was a bit better than the first one)  And reletively speaking i like Highlander 3 better than 2 (quickening)and 4(endgame) and 2.5(renegade)

oh yeah! The Godfather III, Rustlers Rhapsody, All the Adam Sandler flicks(minus Little Nicky), The Postman(yeah...I know). There are probably more.

I think I'm the only person on this Earth that actually liked Two if by Sea (granted, I have a little crush on Sandra Bullock, but I still find that film very amusing).

I second The Postman and I actually *gasp* enjoyed Titanic (make of that what you want).

I'm not afraid to admit it but I do get made fun of because of it but I like Grease. That film is amazing! The best part was seeing when I was a little kid and thinking it was really good and then seeing when I'm older and getting ALL the jokes. That film has a lot of double meanings in it.

Seven Brides is great, but I'm a musical freak.  All of them throughout the years, from the Singing in the Rain (ones people like) to Newsies (ones most people aren't too found of), I'm not embarassed by it or afraid to admit it but those are the section of movies in my collection that most people give me weird looks about....even more so than all of my slasher flicks and stuff like that.

Grease has somewhat of a special meaning to me.  The first theater experience I ever had was helping with my junior high production of grease and anything I've acted in or helped with on stage usually finds it's way into my collection.  Also my previous message in the thread where I mention my love for musicals can also be noted in this.

I really like Grease as well.  It's got nostalgic value to me, cos the first time I saw was during rehearsals of our own primary school Grease production when I was 10.  The home video my Dad filmed of that could well be considered for this site.  Maybe I should sent it for review? Ha ha.

Hey, I absolutely love MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE. Here's why:

Dolph Lundgren is perfectly cast and very sympathetic as He-Man.

The special effects are a bit cheesy, but also very creative and very good when one considers the film's budget...and at least there isn't any CGI, which right now seems to be hastening the ruination of science fiction as a film genre.

Bill Conti's score is fantastic.

Frank Langella...now there's a guy who knows how to chew some scenery! He's absolutely wonderful as an over-the-top Skeletor.

Of course, maybe one of the reasons for my liking this film so much is that I'm not a fan of the Filmation cartoon, and I feel that the film is all the richer for ignoring most of what Filmation had done.
