Someone from work gave me a VCD of a  60's Russian Sci-Fi film called PLANET OF STORMS.  The cover looks great, but I don't know how to play it. I have a new Gateway, so I was hoping maybe it would work and my DVD player says "no disk". Any thoughts on the movie or how to play it?

Maybe it's sooooo bad that the computer refuses to play it.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

Not all DVD players support VCDs.  It sounds like you are out of luck unless you have another player you can try it on.

My old GE wouldn't touch VCDs.  My new Pioneer will play anything I throw in there.

Great movie BTW.  I have the Corman re-edited VOYAGE TO THE PREHISTORIC PLANET and it's a lot of fun.

Your computer should play it. I've never had a VCD to try, but my friend says Media Player should play them. Check this page at VCDHelp;

                 "Planet Of Storms":the Russian sci-fi film that Roger Corman happily churned footage from for both "Voyage To A Prehistoric Planet" and "Voyage To The Planet Of Prehistoric Women".
                  I'm completely surprised that nobody in Tinseltown has yet announced remake plans for this movie(since hey're practically remaking everything else).

Just purchased Roger Cormans VOYAGE TO A PREHISTORIC  PLANET on a $6.99 DVD that is a double feature with FIRST SPACESHIP TO VENUS and put out by Diamond. I'll give ya my thumbs up or down when I get a chance to watch it.

I have that dvd. Not bad for the price. Lots of MST material. In fact, they did "1st space ship on Venus". Good one.
