UNCLE WAS A VAMPIRE (1959) Someone gave me a copy of this to view. It's an Italian comedy. I don't know who the comedic star was but his uncle is none other than Christopher Lee. The whole film seems to be shot around a Mediterranian resort that has a real castle on a hilltop. The film was probably considered quite the comedy in 1959 Italy. The copy I seen was dubbed in English and was distributed by Mars Needs Video (
www.marscollection.com). It was strange to see Lee coming out of coffins and graves, and running around the castle at night. He turns his relative into a vampire and he turns all the women at the Hotel (that was once his family castle) into vampires who all leave their men and chase after the comedian. All of Christopher Lee's dialogue is done with an echo effect and standing next to the comedian he is very tall. This comedy resembles something between ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN and BEDAZZLED. You don't have to run out an see this, but if you are a Christopher Lee fan you will want to see this one. Lee drives away from the resort/castle area with two women riding a horse driven hearse.
