GREAT news!  MGM's releasing some cult titles on DVD this July 15th!  Unfortunately, the releases will be full-screen only.  However, I'm just glad that they're coming.. period.  Anyways, here's the list:

Catch the Heat
Gator
White Lightning
Remo Williams:  The Adventure Begins (!)
Eve of Destruction
Juggernaut
Rage of Honor (Finally, Sho Kosugi on DVD!)
Revenge of the Ninja (Same as above!)

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited.  MSRP on these titles is $14.95.  Here's the source of the article, about halfway down the page:

Just letting you guys know in case you had no idea.  Needless to say, it's gonna be a great summer!

I'm totally with you Lee.  I never thought that any of the Sho movies would see the light of day on DVD.  I know that DVD is the new popular format and all, but I figured the execs wouldn't think that releasing Sho Kosugi movies on DVD would be on the top of anyone's priority list.  Personally speaking, it's definitely on the top of mine!  Whoever thought that releasing Remo and Sho movies on DVD the same day should be given a huge raise.  Despite the fact that they're fullsceen, anything's better than my old and worn out VHS tapes.

Yeah seeing this flicks get the DVD treatment is cool. That's one of the things I like about DVD, it takes(in some cases) nearly forgotten gems from years before and gives them new life. I'm still waiting for the day when some of Sammo Hung's rare but highly sought after movies get the DVD treatment.
