Anyone got this book?  It's pretty good.  Written by a Jay Slater and some others.  It's very comprehensive, with multiple reviews for the bigger ones like Cannibal Holocaust and a few others.   They're are rather a lot of negative reviews, but alot of thse movies look really stupid so it's probably deserved.   I can't wait to g to vide oasis here in boston and rent The Beyond and maybe I'll be able to work my way down to the nazi cannnibal stuff like "the Gestapo's last orgy"  there's a weird part of the store that's all these movies with nuns and swastikas.   You probably would like that you sick f**k!

THE BEYOND has a cult following and seems to have a reputation of being on of those movies that all horror fans MUST see. Based on all the hype and notoriety, I bought the limited edition, tin box, director's cut. I found it to be somewhat boring and not particularly gory (certainly not as gory as the hype would lead you to believe). Furthermore, the ending stinks.

So, please, fans of THE BEYOND, help me out here. What's the big deal? Am I missing something? Should I watch it again? Should I watch it in slow motion? Should I watch it standing on my head? Should I watch it dubbed into Cantonese? What is the formula for figuring out how this movie got the reputation that it has in the horror movie world?

The Beyond is considered Lucio Fluci's best movie and so it only makes sense that some Fluci fan boys would give it such high priase.

I thought it was decent. Not bad, really. But I liked "City Of The Living Dead" much better.

I liked Zombie better than either of those.
