Do any of you remember a horror movies from the 80s that involved some little gnomish looking beasts terrorizing a household.  I seem to remember them having big teeth and I think the end involved said gnome being chopped into filthy little pieces by a fan after being pushed in by the family cat.

That'd be Cat's Eye, an anthology flick from 1985 by Stephen King.  Stars James Woods and Drew Barrymore, most notably.

I just watched Cat's Eye last night.

The cat's name was General.

Great film!

I never understood the final battle scene, the girl was 500 times bigger than the troll - she coulda just dropped a book on him.

Yeah, but it wouldn't have been as cool!

Getting to the girl was the entire reason for the cat to travel across country.

"General" was her protector and the end would've sucked had he got all the way there and the girl took care of the troll.

She would've looked at the cat and said, "Where the f**k were you!"
"I had to take that little prick out myself!"

And then the credits would roll.

Maybe she would have learned a little self reliance ;-)

I thought the moral of the story was "p***y makes everything better." :)
