Doin' some sunday morning websurfing, and this item pops up. Apparently there are some mentally ill folks who will only speak Klingon. Ya know, making any sort of comment would be just too damn easy: http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/West/05/10/offbeat.klingon.interpreter/index.html"County officials said that obligates them to respond with a Klingon-English interpreter, putting the language of starship Enterprise officer Worf and other Klingon characters on a par with common languages such as Russian and Vietnamese, and less common tongues including Dari and Tongan."

I once got this shareware or freeware Klingon Clock for Windows. You pushed the button and a voice would read the time in Klingon. Lots of fun.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I love Trek but not like that.
You're right.
Those people seriously have a mental disorder!

The Enterprise crew should have had a telepathic translator device ala the TARDIS so all the monsters could speak English... On a different note, I once had a conversation with a friend about how Star Trek would have been so much cooler had the Enterprise's warp engines been run by a stick shift transmission.

Yes.
The Universal Translator.
But it was for spoken words only, not telepathy.
And by the way Brother R......HAHAHAHA!!!! The warp engines being run by a stick-shift!
F**kin' hilarious!!
That'd be scary as hell to be at the helm but what a rush!
A person piloting it could make those revving noises with their throat as they went through the gears!
HAHAHA!!

Close enouigh was Riker and the joystick in "Insurrection"
...but I swear Khan downshifted and slammed the throttle forward in "Wrath Of Khan" at one point

It's weird that I read this tonight. Earlier I saw a segment on the news about Klingon Karioke(sp?).

Did you ever notice that even when they were face to face with an alien, all you heard was English, not them speaking in their native language and then an English translation?
