I sorta did. One of my dogs is named Fletch, but he was named after the first Chevy Chase movie, not the bad sequel.  I wasn't really into bad movies either at the time, so it wouldn't have been intentional. I've been thinking about naming the next animal I get Coldiron, after the guy from ROTOR.

Is there anyone who has named any pets (or kids) after a bad movie character?

We got one of our cats (or, depending on the perspective, let her move in) when she was about one year old, and we didn't know her name.  (Yeah, yeah.  We know about that T S Eliot cat name thing.  Digression.)  She was flitting around our living room one evenining.  I looked her in the eyes and said, "You are one little fly of a cat."  So because of that, and the name of one of the dogs in Babe, we call her Fly.

But when Fly is acting stupid, Mrs. Apostic calls her McFly (per Back to the Future); when hyperactive, Super Fly!

I named my dog "Bumpy" (a Shih-tzu / Bichon Frise mix) after Laurence Fishburn's character in HOODLUM.

My wife used to do dog rescue before we were married (and schedules became more hectic) Around Dec. 2001, she took in this  Husky cross with 7 puppies of indeterminate fatherhood. Since she'd have them for 8 weeks, until they were old enough to adopt, they needed names. Since her preference is to use a theme, I suggested kaiju.

Thus, we had:
Godzilla (Zilla)
Ghidorah (Giddy)
Rodan (Roadie)
Manda
Megalon (Meg)
Crash, and
Stomp

The last two were picked by Lori, because she didn't like my suggestions of Baragon, Mothra or Gamera.

The mother, with all of these little monsters crawling all over her, could only be called Tokyo, which was often shortened to Tokie or Toke (which is a good name too).

All of them naturally got new names when they were adopted. A couple of the families sent us pictures and updates, but we mostly haven't heard of Tokie and the monsters in over a year.

My evil cat is named Greebo, after the evil cat in the Terry Pratchett books.  Acts just like the little bugger too.
