I just got a new idea for television:"Van Helsing:The Series",an amalgam of the movie"Van Helsing"with a popular South American book. You see, here in South America there´s a book done by popular author Pablo DeSantis called"Transylvania Express".There, all the"official"monsters are listed.Since Hugh Jackman´s Van Helsing seemed to be an expert monster hunter, and he hunted three of the books´s monster(Dracula,Frankenstein and the Werewolf).I put this together:
In the series, taking place after the movie,Van Helsing(recasted,of course)is hunting his old nemesis Dracula(also recasted). When he is hunting,he finds an ancient srtifact, the Cocoon of Nahm'LaTep,that allows the user to travel throught time and space.Since Helsing can´tt master the artifact,he finds himself in 1931,Egypt,fighting Ihmotep,The Mummy(another"official"monster)in each episode he travels to a different place in time and the world8and sometimes, other worlds)in order to fight a monster listed in the book, while secretly longing to return home. That, until the second season, where something duifferent happens. These are the monsters listed in the book:
Alien(from the movie series of the same name),
Kurt Barlow(from"Salem´s Lot),
Candyman,
Carmilla,
the Alligator(from"Peter Pan"),
the Swamp Thing,
Doctor Moreau´s Creatures8from"The Island Of Doctor Moreau"),
Christine,
Predator,
dinosaurs,
one´s evil double twin,
The Blob,
Dracula,
dragons,
The Thing,
Frankenstein,
Nancy Archer(from"Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman"),
Godzilla,
the golem,
Gremlins,
Dorian Grey(from"The Portrait Of Dorian Grey"),
the Gurbos and the Manos(from the South American comic book"El Eternauta"),
the White Worm(from"Lair Of The White Worm"),
the"Hombre de La Bolsa"(a typical South American monster),
the werewolf,
the Amazing Shrinking Man,
the Laughing Man(from J.D.Salinger´s"Nine Tales"),
50 foot ants(don´t ask),
the Incredible Hulk,
Mister Hyde(from"The Strange Case Of Doctor Jeckyll And Mister Hyde"),
some South American R2D2 rip-offs,
the Invaders,
It,
King Kong,
Freddy Krueger8from the"Nightmare On Elm Street"movies),
The Hand(from"Idle Hands"),
Moby Dick,
Ihmotep;The Mummy,
the Creature From The Black Lagoon,
The Fly,

Sounds like a great idea to me, especially if done right.  It would take someone with a tremendous amount of dedication to make it and not have the stories become stale.  A lot of terrific monsters listed, especially Freddy Kruger, Predator, and Godzilla, personal favorites of mine.  Hell, if the movie is successful at all, a series might not be too far out of the question.  Unfortunately, wouldn't there be a lot of rights issues involved with including all of the monsters?  That might end up being really expensive in the long run.  A very cool idea, nonetheless.

Hey man, you buy the rights, and make the series, and I'll be there to watch.  It's definitely an intriguing idea to have him go up against a variety of well-known monsters.
