I saw The Matrix: reloaded in IMAX (Marcus Crosswoods in Columbus). Don't waste your money on it. This film is *NOT* really in IMAX, it's just the biggest damned 16:9 DVD you've ever seen. The ordinary Panavision version has got to be better. I mean, I've seen IMAX films and they blow you away by filling up the screen and overloading your peripheral vision. This one didn't, so there was no point to seeing it. Man, do I feel gypped

Isn't the idea of showing normal films on IMAX an implicit assumption that the format itself is a failure? I saw a couple of IMAX films on an IMAX theatre and I thought the idea was well worth the money. Just imagine what creative filmmakers could do with that huge screen!  But the idea of adapting regular movies to the IMAX system seems to me a step in the wrong direction, and since we are talkin about such an experimental format, it could be the first step to kill it.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

They kept Reloaded in the original aspect ration.  That's why it didn't fill the screen.  It is wider then 16:9...  2.35:1.  The screen is still roughly 4 times larger then a typical multiplex.

Reloaded wasn't very good on a regular theater screen either.

But how did the CGI look?  I don't mean in terms of real or not.  Were the technical failures evident?

I went and saw ATTACK OF THE CLONES on the IMAX, and some of the scenes had clearly evident "jaggies".  I'm thinking of the scene with the clone traders, where the background is all white.

Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.
