Okay I was watching movies over the weekend (like I always do) and I came across Ticker.  It's a movie about a cop and a bomb specialist trying to stop a bomb.  Yea it's regular fair, but the bnomb specialist is Steven Seagal.  Okay this is where the problem lies because he spent almost all of his time giving spiritual wisdom to the main character.  In One scene a bomb is going to explode in 59 seconds and instad of telling him how to disarm it first Seagal goes into a two minute speeche about Nirvana and reincarnation.

Now what was the purpose in saying that?  Well it got me to thinking.  MAybe the movie should have been called "Steven's words of wisdom"  or something to warn you of what you are truly in for.

Another movie that I should have beeen warned about was Hollow Man.  I have never seen so many different shots of a guys wing wang in so many different elements.  Water, smoke, muscles, semi invisible.  It goes on and on.  So maybe this movie should have been called "Hollow Penis"

So my question to you all is to name movies where the title was misleading and to give a better title to explain what the movie is truly about or to warn audiences what their attention is really going to be focused on.

Perk, if you thought Ticker was bad, please sit down and watch On Deadly Ground.  The last 5-10 minutes will have anyone cracking up.  In short, it's Steven Seagal's take on the destruction of the environment.  Seagal's preachiness at its finest, and one of the best cinematic moments in history.  The previous 100 minutes of the movie was just violent window dressing for a 5-10 minute National Geographic/Discovery Channel special.  Of course, it's one of my favorite Seagal movies, but that isn't saying too much.

I didn't see Hollow Man, but didn't Kevin Bacon show his junk in Wild Things?  Jesus, what is it with that guy?

I have tried my hardest to sit down and watch On deadly ground but haven't had the nerve to sit through it completely.  Maybe one day when I'm bored (like I usually am on Saturdays) and when i find my tape I'll sit and watch it.

I really liked HOLLOW MAN, but have only seen it on SciFi, so I haven't seen it uncut....but I've heard about the CGI "willy shots". Makes sense since.....for an invisible man to be truly "invisible".....he'd have to be naked as well.

The title "Hollow Man" is HARDLY misleading......the point was obviously (but you seem to have missed it) that the title refers to Bacon's character whenever has has that latex mask covering his face,,,,,with his eye sockets and mouth obviously showing nothing inside the mask.....or when he has some clothes or other cover over his body.....which is obviously never seen while he's covered (like with the blanket, etc.)

You just didn't get it.....even before I saw the film, the title was obvious to me what it referred to.

Demolition Man - as a black comedian put it, he felt the name should have been "Rambo Vs. Sambo" (sincere apologies if this offends, but it is a direct quote)

Star Trek V - "Shatner's Scary Scriptwriting"

David Lynch films?  IMPOSSIBLE to know what to expect. Twin Peaks could have been "Acid Peaking" or something similar.

I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them right now

If GINGER SNAPS had been called just about anything else it would have been a big hit.  Really dumb title.

No i did get the title.  but what I was saying is that figuratively the title should've been Hollow Penis.  It's just a comic idea not 100 percent literal.

ESCAPE FROM DEATH ROW is an Italian Lee van Cleef movie from the 1970s. If I remember correctly, Lee spends a few minutes in jail, and he is NEVER on death row. The rest of the movie is a run-of-the-mill European crime film. It should have been called, BAD ACTING, BAD DUBBING, AND BORING.

Not offensive just awfully stupid.  An attempt at a funny punchline that isn't funny for more than a few seconds  ("rambo vs sambo ha ha..wait..huh?") and is very forced from the source.
