What do you think is the most common word or theme in horror movie titles. I think the titles sometimes run in "trends," where a popular movie will come out, and then a bunch of other movies will follow with titles that sound the same. Or older movies with similar titles will be re-released to "cash in." In most cases, however, there are no trends. There are just certain words that stand the test of time and appear in MANY titles over MANY years.

The "House" Movies:

* LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT
* THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED
* THE HOUSE THAT VANISHED
* THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD
* LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET
* THE HOUSE OF SEVEN CORPSES (not to be confused with HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES)
* Etc.

The "Blood" Movies:

* BRAIN OF BLOOD
* BLOOD OF GHASTLY HORROR
* MAD DOCTOR OF BLOOD ISLAND
* BRIDES OF BLOOD
* MY BLOODY VALENTINE
* HORROR OF THE BLOOD MONSTERS
* Etc.

The "Don't" Movies:

* DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE
* DON'T OPEN THE WINDOW
* DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT
* DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK
* DON'T GO IN THE HOUSE

The "Holiday/Special Event" movies:

* HALLOWEEN
* APRIL FOOLS DAY
* NEW YEARS EVIL
* GRADUATION DAY
* PROM NIGHT
* MOTHERS DAY
* Etc.

There are many, many other examples. But what do you think is the all-time champion of over-used words or themes in movie titles????

I am so sorry for this but I have to do it.

The most over used words would be be two for sure.

The  and  of .........

Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead
Village of the Damned
Children of the Damned
Night of the Living Dead
Kingdom of the Spiders
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.etc.

This could most lengthy of lists ever." It just goes on and on my friend."

I could not help but to do this.  The more I thouight about movie titles and themes the more these would just pop up everywhere.

You came up with a very interesting subject for sure.
