Oh, no, mr. 42 has it right on:  "Goldfinger" and "Springtime for Hitler"!  I can't think of any better ones -- The Blob thing does get credit, but ain't even a good song --

I've been away again -- I just read for John Sayles for his new movie "Silver City".  Part of the coroner, "Henry".  Murder mystery.  Have to wait until the 23rd of this month to get the bad(?) news --

Have you shown them footage from ROBOC.H.I.C.?

I just remembered Cyndi Lauper's song "Goonies 'R' Good Enough".  Mostly because I watched the entire video (both parts) from the DVD all in one sitting.  The experience is burned in my brain.  It's horrible I tell you!

The Simpsons also did a good joke on the end of movie rap.
"To the Z, to the O, to the double R, O, it's the dude with sword in the barrio. . ."

I have a soft spot for the Itsy Bitsy Spider song at the end of Eight legged Freaks.
My 3 year old daughter still goes around singing that

All of the Bond ones are great.

How about the prime example of "movie as a music video".................Top Gun

I'm sorely dissapointed no one mentioned "Cuban Pete" from The Mask (the gaul of you)

Also, a couple of other songs from movies I like:

A little known group called Riff singing the title song "White Man Can't Jump"

Dave Hollister (f/ Redman and Eric Sermon) singing "The Weekend" from "Ride" (I have the soundtrack)

Shocking to me  is nobody mentioned any classical pieces such as

Indiana Jones, Batman, Jaws, Star Wars, Terminator 2.

I enjoy a lot of the jazz pieces played in "The Score."

I do not know if it is original, but perhaps the most effective song i know is "Mad World" by Gary Jules , played in Donnie Darko.

I also really enjoy the Chad Kroeger song "Hero" which was made for SpiderMan.

Hah!
As a matter of fact, I do have sections of the scene with me eating the hotdog during the police chase in ROBOCHIC on my demo reel --
And they had me read for the part anyway!!
Go figure . . . .
Hey, Scott -- how's going it, man?

mad world is an awesome song!  one of my favourite songs, regardless of whether it was in a movie or not.

the original is by 'tears for fears' and is a really bad 80's type song.  the donnie darko one is sooo much better [the guys doing the soundtrack apparently did a remake in one day, and the director put it in the film, but not sure about that, it goes too well to be coincedence]

and my hat's off to whoever said that song from the mask.  if i ever find you i'm going to have to hurt you badly; i can't get the song outta my head now!!!

"the power of love", the song for back to the future is also a good one, though i'm not sure if they did it especially for the movie, or just put it in.  its good regardless.

and who can forget the men in tights soundtrack, very silly stuff

Dragnet - the intro theme was done by The Art of Noise.  Also, the cool rap song at the end was sung by Dan Akroyd and Tom Hanks (!).

Think Big - The Barbarian Brothers rap!  One of my favorites.

Last Action Hero - Big Gun by AC/DC was written for/about the movie.

I'm not sure if this was created for the movie, but was that damn Tina Turner song (We Don't Need Another Hero or something like that) created for Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome?
