JUNGLE VIRGIN FORCE (1983) - Here's one for you all. This has to be one of the great bad movies ever made and from Indonesia. It's like one of  those great Italian cannibal films with something elementally Asian. You name it, this film has it. From cannibalism, torture, scorcery, jungle creatures, lost tribes, scientific research team, jewels, beheadings, car chases, a remote island, vehicle explosions, lots of snakes, unusual martial arts, dancing, dubbed english, some sub-titles, gore, light gore, and more gore. There is one scene were the guide of the party was speared in the back really bad and someone asked him "are you ok?". This film is full of so much that it can't be described. This is a great bad movie. Bought one of those double feature TALES OF VOODOO dvd's at Best Buy. This is worth your time.



When I get a chance I will check out the other film on the disk called HELL HOLE.

Without even looking at the description of the film, I have to think to myself: 'Is this the kind of movie for me.'

To which the answer is inevitably 'yes you silly dope, that is the exact type of movie for you.'

I mean, come on, with a title like that you could almost film a brick wall for two hours and I'll probably rent it!


Now that I look at the subject description I think it's great!

Indonesian stuff is really underrated in that way:  I was in Indonesia a few years ago and they had a local version of 'Ghostbusters' which was absolutely hilarious: since I can vaguely understand some Indonesian, from six years of high school education, it was quite good,  though I have to say it's been a while since I've even thought about Indonesian so I'll probably have to hire this just to do some catching up...

Yes, that's right, I need to brush up on my Indo skills by watching a B-movie!  Well that's the excuse anyways... [if only they showed this stuff in class!!!]

The title does it all for me. Anything with a title that stupid has to be hilarious.

The movie sounds fantastic. Subtitled or dubbed? Did you get it from Netflix?

You must catch the editing on this film. The way they cut away from one shot to another was remarkable. The film will leave you with that "what" feeling during many scenes. It's a unique film.

Um, I notice that "Virgins" was missing from the list of things this movie has.  Was that just an oversight considering that it is in the title?

There was a force of female tribal members, but they never said if they were virgins, but I think that was the idea.

You have to see the scorcery special effects in this one and the questionable martial arts.
