Oy!

I think there are too many less-than-spectacular remakes out there when a few films with potentially cool sequals get overlooked.

I myself count the modern versions of The Blob and The Thing as enjoyable as the originals in their own way, but that's probably about as far as it goes.  I have yet to sit through the CGI ratfest of the new Willard. Marky Mark in Planet of the Apes was pretty retarded, though cool enough eye-candy. Same for Lost In Space and Centropolis' Godzilla IMO.

A couple of potentially sweet sequals I wouldn't mind seeing include follow-ups to Q The Winged Serpent and Prophecy, both of which you'll find reviews for here, natch.
I like the concepts for the creatures as well as the human drama of both the films (Yeah! Time for my meds evidently). I think the Katahdin beasts could be refined into a scarier, more evolved form and be used to make a great horror film again, and in the case of Q, the title alone cries out for the return of the monstrous Qetzalcoatl; Q2.

Mas?

How about sequels or remakes for the following:

* SPAWN OF THE SLITHIS
* THE PIT
* THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN
* SQUIRM
* THE THING WITH TWO HEADS

i like the suggestions, though i think that the concept for the creatures as well as human drama/romance is what killed the modern hollywood godzilla film for me: not enough bashing of buildings, and no fire breath! [destruction is cool!]

i didn't actually think tim burtons planet of the apes was that bad [not as good as the original, or the book, but still i liked it in some self mutilating kinda way]

lost in space was just plain odd...

don't really have suggestions of sequals i'd like made, most have been done [badly but done!] though another deathstalker remake type thing would be awesome, i miss pointless violence so very very much

Friday the 13th, part 13th(hey, its now up to part 11th. who knows what will happen after part 12)

We need another Deathstalker movie. Maybe Corman can get Rick Hill back in part 5, you never know.

And then there is Dinosaur Island 2, Raptor 2, Carnosaur 4.
