Just watched TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES N.M. starring and directed by Kiefer Sutherland. Good film to show to those would be thugs, gangstas, or tough guys in the nieghborhood or at work. Very effective anti-bad guy movie.

I liked it quite a bit, but partially because I live in New Mexico and was away at the time I saw it and the landscapes made me homesick :)

I used to like the old TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES game show . . . but I guess that has nothing to do with this topic, so I'll shut up.

I use to watch that Burgomaster. Bob Barker was the host.

Oh, thanks Fearless Freep I watched this one because of your earlier post.

Bob Barker was host to "Beat the Clock". Remember that one Burgomaster?

Hey, that's cool!  When I saw your post I was thinking "didn't this just come up?" (I think it was in terms of Keither Sutherland as an actor).

Glad you enjoyed it

I've never been to N.M. but whenever I think of it I picture a brown desolate desert wasteland populated by mostly people of Latino descent.

Everyone probably has this instant picture in their minds of what each state looks like when its mentioned to them.

For example:  I think of Washington state and I think of mountains.

When I think of Minnesota I think of fir trees and snow.
Wyoming: Yellowstone Park
New York: concrete and zillions of people
North Carolina: tobacco fields with workers in them
Florida: orange groves
California: gangs & violence under a hot sun
Hawaii: hot Hawaiian chicks with hula skirts & leighs
South Dakota: Mt. Rushmore
Idaho: ummmm what else is there but potatoes!
Maine: Stephen King
Kansas: wheat fields
Oklahoma: oil pumping rigs
And worst of all: Nebraska...even worse than Iowa!
And the list could go on & on.

Like when I tell people I'm from Iowa they instantly think...flat....cornfields & farms.
And they're right!
That's pretty much exactly how Iowa is.
Actually where I live isn't that bad at all.  It's a very friendly clean place with very little crime.

To us on this side of the pond, America is all like New York - except for California, which is flatter because of the earthquakes.
