I kinda think JC II was a little better than the first. Only because the scenes were a little more exciting. I had no idea that the Director was the sick muther that he is but he, it's Hollywood... it's a different world and we shouldn't be prejudice.  ; )

I just saw JC2 tonight. I mostly liked it, although the stupidity of the characters drove me up the wall. "Gee, there's a weird demonic creature trying to kill us, let's stop and completely ignore the creature while we argue..." I don't know about anyone else, but rather than hang onto the hibernating creature, I'd chop it up into little pieces and toss them into a furnace.

I'm 35 years old, I have a wife and five kids.  Most of these movies don't really appeal to me because they're not aimed at people my age anyway.  I sorta realized that last year when I watched all the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies and realized they weren't as scary to me as they could be or as they were when I first saw them.  I realized "the movies are really aimed at teens and young adults", which is not meant as a criticism of them som much as just an honest realization of who they are for and I'm not it..

"Changing Lanes" with Samuel Jackson and Ben Affleck, on the other hand, *really* scared me because it's much more a situation I could see myself accidentally falling into.  At my age and lifestyle, I don't worry about supernatural homicidal killers, I have nightmares about unemployment, mortgage payments and health insurance :)

I have 2 main problems with "Jeepers Creepers 2".

1) The Creeper spends almost the entire movie airborne.  He is constantly swooping down to get people and then flying off with them.  Which is all well and good, but in the first movie they didn't show that he had wings until like an hour or so into the movie.  I mean, he drove a truck to get around.  If he really prefers flying that much, and appears to be essentially dependent on it, he should have spent just as much time doing flying in the first movie.  It's like admitting the only reason they waited was for the cinematic reveal.

2) They really dropped the ball on the sequel plotwise.  After seeing the first one, I thought they set up for two very cool follow-ups.  They say that the Creeper comes every 23 years, right?  So I thought if they did another one, it'd be a prequel, set either 23 years previous when that first couple they were talking about got the axe, or, better yet, 46 years previous when the black psychic was still in high school in the 50's, so they could work in a whole "Carrie" like subplot or whatever.
I'd like to think they still might do one of those ideas if they do a third one, but after seeing the direction they went with #2, I think they're much more likely to make it even more outlandish and bizarre.  My new theory?  The Creeper takes on characteristics of whoever he eats, right?  But he still looks all deformed, and like, how did he get the wings?  There must be something else in his diet.  And considering his ability to fly...he must eat Martians!  Coming soon to a theater near you, "Jeepers Creepers 3: In space, no one can hear you jeepie-creep."
