My brother in law loves an old movie and can't remember the title of it. He says it has his favorite horror scene of all times... a woman is trying to take pictures of some creature(s) as it drags her off to an pile to eat her. Later her husband, or other male counterpart, follows the attempted photographs to try and find her. Anyone have any idea what movie this might be?

The one that comes to mind is similar but not exactly as you describe. 'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark' in which the woman is being dragged away and she uses a camera flash to try and scare off the creatures as they don't like light. The creatures drag her to a fireplace in the basement where they live.
This movie used to scare the crap out of me when I was younger. We had a fireplace in our basement that was similar to the one in the movie. I thought the creatures lived there. I told my sister not to get too close to it because I didn't want her to get taken away by them. She got scared and told my father what I said. He was mad to the point of yelling at me for trying to scare her and I should know better than to play tricks on her like this. Here I was trying to protect her and I got yelled at for being mean to her...I didn't have the nerve to tell my father that I, in fact, believed the creatures lived there. Funny to look back on but not so funny then.

odinn7:

I agree.  DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK is one of the scariest "made for TV" horror movies of all time.  The ending is really chilling.

"When will he come and set us free..." I had nightmares of those little ape creatures.
