SUPERFLY (1972) - Encore Channel just showed this film this morning and it was my first time seeing it. This is a well produced bad social film that has probably been the seed of following generations of urban and wannabe urban punks who think this is a way to succeed. A movie with a really bad message. A drug user and dealer who tries to make it out of city life the wrong way. This film is stylish and yet it should be comdemmed for it's portrayal of urban success.

I bought the DVD when it was released a few months ago.  One of my favorites from the 1970s.  And the music by Curtis Mayfield is great!
