So I heard today that August's batch of Midnite Movies are going to be exclusive only to Best Buy. I'm not thrilled about this, and really hope it doesn't start a trend. I know most of them are re-releases, but there were a few intriguing entries (like "Invasion of trhe Star Creatures.") I like being able to get my movies anywhere. How's everyone else feel about this?

On a happier note, looks like we're finally going to see "The Fearless Vampire Killers" on DVD come this October! Since it's Warner, I'm a little concerned as to the amount (or any, even) of extras. I was really hoping for both the director's cut and the US theatrical version on the disc.

Is there somewhere to find the full list of what the releases are?

I think that Best Buy exclusive idea sucks bad too.

Exclusives suck! I got to go out of my way to best buy miles away instead of online where there's no tax eck that is if there is anything good in this new line of movies.

Yes, when THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS was released in the U.S., it's original 106 minute cut had 10 minutes trimmed and was retitled THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLLERS: OR PARDON ME BUT MY TEETH ARE ON YOUR NECK (at least that's the title that I was told). Plus the original animated title sequence was removed with a different animated title scene that featured silly caractures of Roman Polanski and Jack McGowan was made for the U.S. release! However, not all is lost here. When MGM released the film on video back in the early 1990's, it was the original 106 minute version with original title sequence. Now that Warner owns the vault materials, I am certain that the 106 minute version will be released on DVD. And hopefully the silly U.S. title sequence will be used as a supplument. Plus, Polanski's film can now be fully appreciated in it's original 2.35:1 Panavision format!

As for the MGM releases, I must say I am quite excited about some of the titles. I am particularly interested in seeing the three A.I.P. films THE GHOST OF DRAGSTRIP HOLLOW (1959), THE GHOST IN THE INVISIBLE BIKINI (1966), and INVASION OF THE STAR CREATURES (1963), the three of which have NEVER recieved a legit video release.
