So does this mean I've finally found another Starship Troopers fan? How about Starship Troopers 2. You get bug AND zombies. Bonus.

I think it depends on whether you mean a fan of the book or the movie. I think the thrust of this article, which I'm almost finished reading, is that the movie was a bastardization of the book, missing the point, abandoning any intelligent discussion of rights and responsibilities, and twisting the message almost 180 degrees.

As a fan of the book, this is a view I share. A lot of the book was scrapped, and a lot was invented that was never part of the story. Of course, even as an action flick, ignoring anything deeper, it was a disappointment. The "funny" propaganda films were dumb, out of place, and amounted to a rehash of something that worked better in Robocop. But the thing I hated the most was abandoning any of the grittiness of the book, and the real toughness of the characters, and throwing in a bunch of kids with pretty faces.

The movie was crap, plain and simple.

I really liked the article, and I'll have to share that link with a couple of people, particularly my brother who, although he's a smart person, falls into the group who label Heinlein a fascist.

Good read, and not a bad site overall, Thanks.  I don't know if I like ALL of his arguements, I'm not one for overanalyzing my fiction.  I did, however, LOATHE the movie.  TRYING to make a B-movie just creates trash.  When will people realize this.?
