Robot Ninja - very low budget movie about a cartoon artist who is upset the way a TV verson of his cartoon character is being treated so after witnessing a murder/rape, gets a generic scientist/inventor friend of his to build a suit like his character ("Robot Ninja") so he can go out and wreck vigilante justice. Unfortunately, he has no actual skill so it goes pretty badly, as does the script, acting, soundtrack and production.
Harrison Bergeron - Starring Sean Astin (Sam from "Lord Of the Rings") and Christopher Plummer and based on a story by Kurt Vonnegut, this is a sci-fi movie about a future world where everyone is made 'equal' to avoid coveteousness and envy and therefore violent greed. To accomplish this, people wear headbands to give electrical shocks to dumb people down (the smarter you naturally are, the higher the voltage and frequency). Athletes are handicapped with weights and broken equipment. Harrison (Astin) is a young man who resists the dumbing down and eventually tries to lead a revolution. Pretty well done, made-for-TV (Showtime) movie. I found that it was subtle as a brick in places where the writing could have been less obvious, but overall a good story and interesting commentary on large chunks of society today
