CREEPYYYYYYYYYYYYYY...documentary
about a long island teacher with three boys and a wife. the many awarded teacher retires and continues to teach computer classes in his basement. meanwhile, the postal system catches him ordering a child porno magazine from abroad and get a search warrant. search his house and find more.
soon a witchhunt ensues whereby children in his computer class are asked leading questions by police and given pizza and badges to "co-operate."
mr. friedman pleads guilty (and later admits on other occasions he DID have contact with minors...just not in the computer class) which implicates his 18 year old son jesse since he helped with the classes.
the son winds up serving 13 years on a 6 to 15 sentence. the reason he bargained and pled guilty was that he was threatened with fighting each case of alleged sex abuse individually, which would have kept him in the prison system for life. his father later committed suicide.
it's pretty inconceivable that "gang rapings" went on during the computer classes since any parent could drop by at any time. there were no locked doors leading to the basement. there was one student who swore to investigators that there was never any abuse. the child's mother was not allowed to be present during the questioning in her kitchen, but she secretly taped the interrogation. the cops totally put the kid down when he doesn't agree witht the allegation. then they later tell the mother that they don't like her kid's attitude...
very interesting...if you get this from netflix, be advised that there is also a BONUS disc with some great additional evidence. for one thing, police found playboy magazines in the 18 year old's bedroom (usually not read by homosexual pedophiles), they cops also found some cameras and some dirty photos (of women) that one might order online or some such thing. the cops took all of these items, found in different locations, and then photo'd them as if they were all found together.
wheh.......anyway,what makes this doc really interesting is that once the family knew their father would probably wind up in prison, they filmed on their own. over 25 hours of family arguments, parties, etc.
the director "discovered" the story while doing a doc on new york clowns. mr. friedman's brother is the most employed party clown in new york, and he sort of opened up to the director about his brother's story...
