yeah, we've mentioned this before.

Saw this way back in '02.  Very good film.  Agreed on the point that it is pretty much equal with CTHD.  Despite people saying that it is just a rip off [which I don't feel is the case] it is still an excellent film.  Deserves every bit of respect.

Btw, on the point of Tarantino lending his name to a movie, John Carpenter has been doing that for years...

Finally got around to seeing it yesterday.  Fantastic film!

I don't have time enough to write out a review at the moment so look for one tomorrow.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

This movie is not a CTHD ripoff.  People are just saying that because one of the same actresses is in it & they can fly... they can do this because it's part of Chinese mythology, it's not something Ang Lee made up for CTHD.

Anyways,

This was one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen.  It sets the mood right at the beginning with some Taiko drumming in the background, then they go into the king's courtyard and you see this MASSIVE army.  It was breathtaking, but also refreshing because, unlike LOTR, this army looked REAL.  You don't get stuck thinking "Oh, that's obvious CGI".  It really looked as if they had 10,000 extras all dressed in uniform, standing at attention. Amazing.

The story goes on and you get to see some phenominal fight scenes (reminiscent of Chinese ballet) with beatiful choreography and backgrounds.  I can't even describe it, it has to be seen to be understood.

Every actor/actress was awesome.  EVERY scene was amazing and beautiful.  The story was intriguing, suspenseful, exciting, and tragic.

I highly recommend that, if possible, you see it on the big screen- it's quite an experience.
