This is a little bit of the mark of movies, tv, etc., but I notice something in fighting video games that is really annoying me.  The games that are targeted are:

Super Street Fighter II (and Turbo)
Street Fighter Alpha 3
World Heroes I & II
Every Tekken game made
Every Mortal Kombat game made
DOA 1&2

What I'm annoyed about is the fact that every game on that list has a character, from China or Hongkong who looks and/or sounds like Bruce Lee. Why can't you just leave the man alone and let him rest in peace?  It started with World Heroes and its character called (wouldn't you know it) Dragon, then Mortal Kombat's Liu Kang, then Street Fighter jumped on the bandwagon and put in Fei Long (this one actually looks like Lee), and so on, and so on.  Is it some prerequesit for Capcom, Midway, and the like to have some Bruce Lee clone in their character line up?  Granted, the man was great, and his death was tragic, but there is a reason why we have the phrase "rest in peace".

Personally, I find it more of a tribute to the man.

Who doesn't want to see Bruce still kicking ass , even though it's as a game character? Don't forget his own wife allowed his image to be legally used in an old  80's Commodore 64  fighting game of the same name, and she knew him better than any of us. I think he'd get a buzz out of it.

Yeah, they should have let his legacy shine with a fitting send-off like they did in NO RETREAT, NO SURRENDER.

You guys forgoten about Law in the video game Tekken (I forgot how to spell it) 1,2,3, and the others. My favorite tribute film about The Late Great Bruce Lee is not No Retreat No Surrender but Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story.

I agree with all of you about it being a tribute to the man, but after SSFII, made in '94 or '95 (I think),  You'd think that would be the cutoff point.  But , to me, all other games put a Bruce Lee clone as the norm for all men from China and/or Hongkong (shout-out to Samurai Showdown's Wan Fu, who fights with an actual pillar and Fatal Fury's Kim), almost stereotypical.  There are many other fighting specialist to think of when making a fighting game.  Not just make up a guy from China and make him have short hair and sounding like a b***h.  How about one like Jackie Chan (or even Sammo Hung).
