VIVA MARIA (1965) - This is a very good 1800's South of the border comedy and French/Italian co-production starring Brigitte Bardot and Jeanne Moreau. The film starts out with a song about a little Irish girl who helps her father blow up the English around the world. She has to blow up her own father when he is caught rigging explosives on a Latin American bridge. She escapes capture and joins a traveling circus of sorts were she meets another Maria they take the country by storm with a striptease act quite by accident. They later meet a young revolutionary played by George Hamilton who gets killed by the goverment. The little Irish girl now grown up takes up were she left off and the two Maria's lead the Latin American country into revolution. The whole film is in French with subtitles. Check this one out it's quite original and good all the way through.
