Is this Riley . . . aka Cheecky-Monkey?  (I think the albany.adelphia.net is a dead giveaway).

Do you mean monsters in general?  Or do you mean the campy TV series "Monsters" that ran from 1988-1991(and later on Sci Fi in syndication)?

Here's a complete episode list:

I hope to one day see it released on DVD... preferably in box sets.

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.

I used to get a big kick out of that show. One of the Buffalo stations used to show it late at night on weekends. Used to come home and watch it before going to bed. It was great.

One really weird thing happened just before they stopped showing it. Seems the station managed to get a single sponsor for the show, who demanded quite a lot for his money. The station cobbled together a crappy new opening for the show, which they retitled Claude Electric Monsters. It was the stupidest thing.

I don't know if this was "Monsters" or not (could have been "Tales From the Dark Side" or something), but I liked the one where a UFO had crashed and killed a bunch of people, then a force field or something trapped all the survivors in the area around it. I think the survivors where two men, a little girl, and the alien, who looked kind of like a Christmas tree. Of course, it was an accident, you can hear the alien thinking about how he needs to communicate with the natives to get them to help him fix it. Again, *of course* the adults think the alien is viscious and the little girl has an ET thing going on with it. It takes place around Christmas.

I love monsters.  Alien was my favorite.  The critters in Bone Snatcher were probably the ickiest.  But anything from vampires to giant spiders to cheesy low budget props will do just fine.
