DEADWOOD '76 (1965) - This Western stars
ARCH HALL JR. and was written by his father. The film starts out with about 15 minutes of footage of
ARCH HALL JR. riding through the Badlands of South Dakota as he helps out a harmonica playing cat salesman who's wagon is attacked by Native Americans. The kitty salesman kinda becomes Halls sidekick who sells enough kittens to the towns people to stake a claim in the Deadwood area and Hall joins the search for gold. This story has to many factors in it to be taken seriously and makes for one of the very best B-Movie Western ever made. This is Halls sixth and last film. Halls character is named Billy and the whole town mistakes him for Billy the Kid and they wage bets on him against Wild Bill Hickcock who returns to Deadwood for a showdown with him. Not only that, but Halls character runs into his own long lost father who is a Confederate soldier living with the Souix and ready to lead the united Indian tribes into battle against the army and he is hoping his son joins him against Custer. In the middle of all this Hall falls in love with an Indians chief daughter who gets raped by some bad guys. (SPOILERS......................) Halls character Billy gets hung from a tree by a lynch mob at the end. The film also has some origianal Western music that might be of interest to some.
