What would you guys recomend for those who like movies with a strong national flavor? "The Quiet Man" was a perfect example of a national, All be it stereotyphical, image of Ireland. Are there any B-movies that also have a...well....style that makes the national heritage part of the actual plot? English.Irish,Dutch and German make up my back ground. Hummmm..."Reptilicus"(Dutch)....Lair of the White Worm(Scots)....Raw head Rex..Yuck..(Irish?).... M(German,Ja?)....hummmm....what do you think?

Yep... I'm half Danish myself, and my relatives over there all have fond memories of the film. I found a used copy in Harvard Square while they were visiting, and they just went nuts. Apparently it's huge over there, comparable to Godzilla. I suppose, living in the States, we take monsters trashing our cities for granted. Speaking of which, has there ever been a giant monster movie taking place in Boston? Massachusetts seems to mostly get supernatural/Stephen King horror movies (and of course Re-Animator).

Hummmm...i think at Barry's temple of Godzilla, he has pictures of G attacking something other then N.Y. on the east coast. Yeah, i've done two takes of The EV-IL sock puppet in Home Grown MST. He He He! When the chick says, "They say the danes were born on Bycycles"....i had to say."Yeah, and even more were concived there!"......yeah. Gotta love Reptilicus.

Strange Brew

If ever there was a movie that made a national heritage part of the plot, this is it. Every bit of the humour is based on Canadian stereotypes. I really miss SCTV.
