We're all just victims of circumstance

Scifi wire says they have confirmed that Browder (Crichton from Farscape) is joining the cast of Stargate SG-1 for their ninth season. They also said that MGM is negotiating with Richard Dean Anderson to stay on the show in some capacity  (recurring character?).

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Ben on SG-1. Hopefully he's not just starring in a throw-away role.

Great my favorite Sci-Fi show gets cancelled, and the star winds up on another Sci-Fi show that I can't stand.

Guess I should be glad to know Browder's getting work, but I've never been a fan of the Stargate franchise.

I think he will be a member of the SG-1 team to take up the vacuum left  by Richard Dean Anderson's lack of participtation next year.  Ben was actually considered to play  Carter's cop boy friend Pete, but  turned it down because it was such a small part.

Claudia Black is guest starrring in  one episode this season and has contracted to be in a least 5 eps in the next season.

I think right now that the Stargate shows are the best SciFi on television, that is until Galactica premiers in January. I 've seen the first six eps(its showing in the UK right now)and it kicks ass.

I loved the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. I thought it was excellent... but purists will be quick to condemn me for saying that since I've never seen the original series.

It's too bad SG: Atlantis is sandwiched in between SG-1 and Battlestar Galactica next year... I'll have to find something to occupy myself with during that hour long void. I was real disappointed with Atlantis and can't even force myself to sit through it.

They just annouced Browders role in SG-!. He is going to be a Lt. Colonel assigned to SG-1,  I figure he is filling the void that RD Anderson will be leaving.  The interesting thing is that they are giving him a back story with the SGC, so all the regulars already know him.

That's interesting Nobody that you dislike Atlantis, it's because of that show's popularity that they decided to go with another season of SG-1. I've never figured out how one person can revile something while another can relish in it. I guess it 's that whole being human thing.

I had no idea that Atlantis was even popular. I thought the vamp-like villains were extremely weak- not nearly as menacing as the go'auld. And that comic relief -slash- "voice of reason" character that's always screaming during each episode really gets on my nerves.

"Am I the only one who truly comprehends how SCREWED we are?"

"If we don't leave now we're all going to DIE!"

Blah, blah, blah...

Maybe the new episodes will be retooled enough for me to enjoy them- or at least tolerate them. But only time will tell.

That's Rodney McKay, the annoying scientist. He was on SG-1 a couple of times annoying Carter.

I think towards the end of the first season they are going to be interacting with Earth more, in fact they are supposed to be sending  a ship to Atlantis.
