As far as I'm concerned, the series was already tarnished by Jason Goes to Hell. What a piece of crap. It's only redeeming feature is the opening sequence with the sting operation by the feds. It was about time the feds noticed Jason, and sent some real firepower after him. Anyway, it hardly makes up for rewriting the backstory and just generally making a mess of a simple paint-by-numbers type of film.

Jason X can only be an improvement. I think it looks pretty cool. If it weren't for the fact that they've given the sci-fi treatment to someone we know and love, I'm sure fewer people would be skeptical. I realize that this is a tactic that has failed in other horror franchises, but from what I've read, these people have put some thought into it. The story sounds intriguing, and I'm willing to give it a chance.

I assume that releasing the trailer means that the release date is now finally set. The thing has been in the can for over a year, and the date has moved from Oct. 2000 to Feb. 2001 to Aug. 2001 to where it is now. Nothing p**ses me off more than knowing a movie exists but isn't available for me to see.
