DUEL IN THE SUN (1947) - Beautiful Western film starring Jennifer Jones, Gregory Peck, Joseph Cotten, Lionel Barrymore, Lillian Gish, Harry Carey. Romantic Western with Jennifer Jones playing the female lead and her role reminds you of Jane Russell in THE OUTLAW (1943). The landscapes and other Westrern images are brilliantly filmed in Technicolor. The film ends with a gunfight scene in the hot desert between Jenifer Jones and Gregory Peck. TCM played this fine looking film.
 


Foxy Brown (1974) - This has got to be the king of Drive-In movies. This film is wild from beginning to end with Pam Grier providing that 70's action. The director is Jack Hill. This one played on FLIX movie channel.



EMANUELLE IN AMERICA (1977) [/b ] - Indonesian actress Laura Gemser stars in this erotic and exotic Italian film from the 70's. With film location like New York City, Venice, and Africa (not sure if they were actually in Africa).

Or "Lust in the Dust," as it was informally known, when it was being filmed. Or, as I like to call it, "The Film with 7 Directors" Though King Vidor is the director of note, Otto Brower, William Dieterle, Sidney Franklin, William Cameron Menzies, David O. Selznick, and Josef Von Sternberg directed parts of the film.

And Herbert Marshall, Walter Huston, Charles Bickford, Butterfy McQueen, Otto Kruger, Sidney Blackmer, and narrated by Orson Welles. Stars in anyother film are co-stars here.

And I love that scene of the race to the railhead.

Laura Gemser was the costume designer on TROLL 2, a fact I've always found mildly amusing.
