Three films I haved picked out for viewing this week on cable are three that I've never seen before, or at least don't remember the titles.

Terror is a Man
The Valley of Gwangi
Robinson Curusoe on Mars

Has anyone seen these films. What did you think of them?

The Valley of Gwangi -- King Kong without the Ape (and subtext), set in the wild wild west.  .  It's a Ray Harryhausen, and not one of his best, but entertaining none the less, as far as I'm concerned.

Robinson Curusoe on Mars -- I only caught the end of this one (and it was a while ago).  I remember enjoying it, but not much else.

"Terror is a Man" is an adaptation of "The Island of Dr. Moreau."

That being said, it really is not all that good.  The idea is that the scientist is taking a large cat (panther, I think) and turning it into a human.  When it gets loose, well, you know the drill.

"The Valley of Gwangi" is pretty neat.  To this day I think my favorite part is the prehistoric horse (hipparion, I think?).

Robinson Crusoe on Mars is a hoot.  Great B-movie sci-fi fun.  The spaceships I believe are leftovers from THE WAR OF THE WORLDS that have the top removed.  As the title conveys, it is pretty much the Daniel Dafoe novel set on Mars.

THE VALLEY OF GWANGI is one of my favorite Harryhausen movies.  Click here for my spoiler free review.  I believe it is "eohippus" Andrew, but don't quote me on that.

I haven't seen TERROR IS A MAN (but I taped it last night--soon to be rectified).
